Pip and Pap Parent and Child Workshops

Year 1 parents and pupils enjoyed a lovely workshop together today, reading Pink Phase Book 18 together - "Shoop the Cook!"

After revising the grapheme-phoneme correspondences in the book, pupils and parents talked about key vocabulary in the story and the meanings of the words. Then, pupils read the story to their parents, whilst parents asked them questions about what they had read. In this book, Tisp has a go at cooking, but Dad thinks it is safer to go out for lunch instead!

Finally, children and adults made and decorated some beautiful "chef" hats together, so that they could be just like Shoop the Cook! Aren't they marvellous?

We love to see parents at our weekly phonics workshops - all are welcome! Ask your child's class teacher for more details.
