Parent and child workshop

Pupils in Year 2 at Our Lady took part in a parent and child workshop today, reading Purple Phase Book 4, "Pest Control!"

In the story, Pip and Pap come across some wasps and have to call Bez to come and help. Parents and pupils completed some verbal comprehension questions about the story together, before then completing an oracy activity, talking about what you might do in the event of finding a wasp nest or if you were stung by an insect.

Then, pupils and parents worked together to make their own 'wasps' - these ones aren't pests though, they look very happy and smiley, just like the children!

It has been lovely to see so many parents coming into school for our Pip and Pap workshops - if you would like to find out more, please speak to your child's class teacher.
