Eco blog Entry

Year 4 have been busy composting! They have been collecting unused fruit from break time and adding it to our compost pile. They have also swept up the fallen leaves and used them to add brown matter to the compost heap. They will turn this regularly to ensure it breaks down and it usable for our vegetable beds in the summer. Well done and Thank you Year 4!

This week in Year 5, we have thought about how and when we will grow our vegetables. We discussed when to grow them indoors and when to grow them outdoors. After some research we discovered that our different vegetables (spinach, corn and pumpkins) require different growing conditions. We have begun to create a calendar to help us keep track of the growing and harvesting process for this year. We have also cleared the any final plants and we are beginning to look forward to seeing our bulbs emerge this spring term from our winter planting!
