Year 1 Pip and Pap Workshop

Year 1 enjoyed reading the Pip and Pap Pink Phase book "Clown Tricks" with their parents today!

They revised the grapheme-phoneme correspondences:

/ow/ as in 'clown' and 'crowd'

/oi/ as in 'coin', and 'avoid'

/air/ as in 'fair' and 'eclair'

/ure/ as in 'assure' and 'sure'

/ear/ as in 'hears' and 'near'

Children read the book to their parents and answered questions about the story! In this book, Jaim the clown performs in the town and plays tricks on the aliens!

Pupils made their own clowns with their grown ups, using paper plates and pom poms. Aren't they fantastic?

We run parent workshops every other week at OLSJ in Years R-2 - all are welcome!

Each session, we revise our phonics sounds, apply them in a story together, and then make something to take home! Please ask your child's class teacher or the office for more details. Many thanks for your continued support.
