Wow!

Years 5 and 6 blew us away on Monday with their music concert. There were many toes tapping and huge smiles throughout!

Since the beginning of September, the children have been learning the chords: C, F Major, D Minor, A Minor and G6 on their ukuleles. Practising these, along with the focus of rhythm and the number of beats in the songs, enabled the children to reproduce: ‘Achy Breaky Heart’, ‘What Shall We Do With the Sailor’ and ‘Horse with No Name’.

As well as singing along to the sea shanties as they played their ukuleles, the children were later joined by the choir who sang beautifully and brought tears to our eyes.

We are so incredibly proud of our children and would like to thank our parents for their support and enthusiasm along with Showcase, our music providers, who co-ordinated the performance.
