God, Love & Family

Welcome to Our Lady and St. Joseph Catholic Primary School.

We Are ‘OUTSTANDING’

Ofsted - November 2022

Amazing news! The school has been judged by Ofsted to be ‘Outstanding’ under an incredibly rigorous Ofsted Framework, where only ‘The Exceptional’, top 5% of all schools nationally are granted this level of recognition.

The attached report quite rightly reflects every person in our community and evidences the hard work and determination that has taken place over recent years. I have thanked all of our staff team and Governors for their dedication, care, creativity and nurture.

The report reflects our vision and passion for a holistic education that puts our children at the very centre of all we do.

As you will see from the report the school has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in every category and I am proud that our vision to empower every learner was evidenced clearly along with the nurture and strong character education:

‘Leaders and governors have a clear and uncompromising vision to empower pupils to become ‘architects of a better world’. This vision weaves its way through all aspects of school life. Staff encourage pupils to consider others, within the school and beyond, in all they do and say.

I am particularly heartened that the Inspection Team noted:

‘Leaders are meticulous about what they want pupils to know, do and remember. Leaders’ and teachers’ energy is infectious. They are always looking for ways to make things even better. Leaders leave nothing to chance with no stone unturned. Pupils receive an excellent academic and character education.’

I was exceptionally proud that the team witnessed:

‘Leaders cater for pupils’ personal development exceedingly well. Staff foster pupils’ leadership skills. Pupils are highly committed to their roles. Whether this is writing a presentation for the climate change conference with their partnership schools or scanning books for younger pupils on the library bus, pupils care for all in their community. Pupils are also passionate about caring for those beyond their immediate experience.’

I hope that you will join with me to congratulate all of the people within our community who have worked tirelessly for all of our children. We are a family school and all work to plan and deliver the very best for our children and are so proud of our school.

Thank you for your support and wonderful comments over the past year. A hearty congratulations to all of the children, teachers, support staff, governors, parents and adults who form part of our school community!

If I can be of any help explaining or clarifying the report, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

Gerida Montague
