Welcome Statement

Welcome to Our Lady and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you find the information on our site easy to find and useful.

We are a small and caring Catholic school, in the heart of The New Forest, whose Gospel values engender a happy, inclusive, family atmosphere. Our modern school has fantastic IT provision and other facilities and is set in beautiful grounds.

Our aim is to provide your children with the skills to reach their full potential.  We do this through our exciting, high-quality curriculum, which allows your child to learn in different and varied ways.

Children are encouraged to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.  We value each child’s contribution to our community and look to develop the whole child to be a happy, well mannered and secure young person.

We strive for high standards and expect excellent academic progression and excellent behaviour. We want all our children to develop their full potential, achieve their personal best and enjoy their school experience while at our school.

We are the only Catholic school in the New Forest and take children from Lymington, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, New Milton, Milford on Sea and Waterside parishes.

As a voluntary aided school, founded in 1859 by the Catholic Church, we operate under the provision of the Portsmouth Diocese (please see the Diocesan Building Fund letter below for further details.

For those new to the school we hope our website will illustrate how proud we are of our school and paint a picture of the small caring environment we operate within. With approximately 115 children arranged in four classes, we are able to offer a reassuring education where we can care for each child’s individual needs, building their confidence and encouraging them to be creative and independent to prepare them for their life beyond primary school.

Selecting the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will have to make. Please take the time to look through our website and download our prospectus. We also invite you to visit the school, to appreciate its character and see first hand the high quality of care and learning that Our Lady and St Joseph School provides.

If there is anything further you need or any information you feel is missing from our site then please contact us.

If you would like to apply for a place then please contact the school and we will either advice if spaces are available or for Year R entrance explain the admission procedure. Alternatively the Admission Arrangements can be found under the Download and Links Section under About Us.

I look forward to meeting you and I hope you find our website friendly and informative.
