Children in Year 5 have written their own persuasive speeches during Autumn 2.
After hearing speeches by Greta Thunberg, pupils were inspired to write their own speeches about injustice issues close to their heart. The children researched around their topics to include relevant case studies, facts and statistics. They have also worked hard to think about the purpose and features of persuasive writing, to connect with their audience. Year 5 also attended the virtual summit on Climate change by Greenpeace around 'Nature, Oceans and Water' and have looked at David Attenborough's Blue Planet. Their written speeches to the public urge them to take better care of our oceans and marine life.
Some of our pupils have recorded their speeches as news reports! Take a look at their reports by clicking here!
