Job Vacancies

Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Primary School is a thriving school in idyllic surroundings on the outskirts of The New Forest. We are a small, inclusive and nurturing school with a caring ethos and family atmosphere. We welcome everyone whatever their beliefs. 


We are looking for a teacher or HLTA with specialist experience in SEN to provide planning and assessment for an individual child with visual and learning difficulties in a mainstream setting.  The child is learning from a bespoke curriculum and has a one-to-one Learning Support Assistant. Working alongside the SENCo, the candidate must have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and a passion for supporting SEN pupils to achieve their full potential.


The role is for 5 hours per week, flexible working arrangements to suit the school and candidate.


Essential qualities:

  • Plan a bespoke curriculum to meet the needs of the child in accordance with their EHCP targets

  • Provide continuous assessment and gather evidence to determine the appropriate level of learning challenge

  • To be able to liaise effectively with external agencies and implement strategies and specific targets

  • Experience in supporting children with visual needs

  • Experience in supporting children with learning needs

  • have a knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly the Pre Key stage Standards

  • good level of computer literacy

  • excellent literacy and numeracy


Desirable qualities:

  • knowledge of the early years and KS1 curriculum
