Meet the Governors
The governing body is made up of volunteers from different groups of stakeholders of the school (parents, staff, community and local authority) who are elected. The role of the governing body is to support the leadership team by determining, monitoring and reviewing the broad policies, plans and procedures within which the school operates.
Please see the attached structure and remit of the governing body, committees, the full names of the chair of each committee and the register of interests for governors including:
- governance roles in other educational institutions;
- any material interests arising from relationships between governors or relationships between governors and school staff, and;
- their attendance at governing body and committee meetings over the last academic year.
The main purpose of the governors is to help the school ensure the provision of high standards of teaching and learning, by setting the school's strategic direction and setting targets for school improvement. The governors also provide challenge for school improvement and keep the school under review whilst being a critical friend, offering support and advice.
The governing body appoints committees to deal in more detail with various different aspects of the school. There are three main sub committees and each governor sits on at least one of them.
